I have been looking at the diy wind power webpages and it seems to be a nice way to generate electricity if you have a site with moderate wind. That combined with solar power and strict planning on the electric device side (eliminate devices that are not needed, for example use the same screen for computer stuff and tv)
Chickens are a must! Having fresh eggs should be nice. They also will provide you with natural fertilizers.
